The Penn Highlands Community College winter session is a great way to either catch up or get ahead. Whether you are a Penn Highlands student or attending another college, our engaging and convenient online courses will move you towards your educational goal.
- Winter Session: December 19th, 2022 – January 13th, 2023
Credits earned through these classes may be easily transferred to other colleges. All winter session courses are online.
- December 16, 2022: Last day to add.
- December 19, 2022: Classes begin.
- December 22, 2022: Last day to drop.
- January 3, 2023: Last day to withdraw.
- January 13, 2023: Classes end.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Students must be motivated, able to learn at their own pace, and be a self-starter. These accelerated courses carry the expectation of regular work and extensive individualized study. Winter classes assume that you will devote a minimum of 6 to 8 hours per day.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS?
Winter Session classes require internet, textbooks, and materials.
It is strongly recommended that students have their own personal computer or access to a household computer. You should not attempt an online winter class using only public access computers or your mobile device. You will not have access to College computers or College offered technical support through the IT Help Desk during the Winter Session. HOW DO I REGISTER?
Before registering for a course, new and guest students must apply.
NOTE: You may not need to apply if you’ve already been accepted to Penn Highlands and have taken a class within the last academic year.
Current students may register online through myPEAK for Winter Session classes by searching for Winter Session or Spring 2022 classes. Winter session classes will be noted as beginning on December 19, 2022.
NOTE: Students are limited to 1 class/3 credits during the Winter Session.
Registration deadlines are as follows:
- October 17, 2022: Registration opens for currently enrolled students
- October 31, 2022: Registration opens for new students
- December 16, 2022: Registration closes.
NOTE: If you register and then decide that an online class is not for you, you must drop the class before December 22 to be eligible for a refund on tuition and fees.
HOW DO I PAY?
Payment in full is due within 48 hours of registration. Students must pay in full to secure their seat in class. Students who do not pay Winter Session tuition and fees within 48 hours of registration will be automatically dropped from class. No registrations will be accepted after December 16, 2022.
Payment plans and third-party billing are not available for the Winter Session. Financial Aid is not available for this session.
These courses can be used toward eligibility for the spring term for qualified, degree-seeking Penn Highlands students. Any eligible aid will be processed in the spring semester. Please contact Financial Aid at 814.262.6454 to discuss eligibility.
Our admissions process is simple and takes less than 15 minutes. There is no need to be alarmed. Penn Highlands accepts applications year-round and admits students on a rolling basis.
