Students may gather in the East Hills Recreation Gymnasium when arriving for Commencement. They may enter via the entrance by East Hills Recreation or through the two exterior gym doors located at the front of the Richland Campus. All other building doors will be locked. Faculty marshals will escort students to the auditorium from there. At the conclusion of the event, students will be able to exit through the gym or the East Hills Recreation entrance.
Each student participating in Commencement will be given two guest tickets for the face-to-face ceremony. These tickets will be custom for each student, and tickets are non-transferrable. If you do not have two people who will be attending, you cannot give your ticket to another student to use.
Access to the Richland Campus will only be available to guests via the East Hills Recreation entrance. Guests will be assigned seating in various hallways around the first floor of the Richland Campus. Guests will not be seated in the auditorium during the ceremony.
When it comes time for the guests’ student to proceed on stage and receive the diploma, the guests will be escorted into the rear of the auditorium to watch the student walk across the stage. After which, they will be escorted from the auditorium.
Once leaving the auditorium, guests must return to their vehicle. They cannot remain in the building due to Governor Wolf’s distancing restrictions.
Commencement will be live-streamed on the College’s YouTube channel. Any device with internet access and/or a data plan will be able to watch live.
Guests will only see students in person when they are escorted into the auditorium as the student walks across the stage. There will be no streaming of the ceremony on televisions within the Richland Campus while it is taking place. Guests will be able to watch live if they have a phone or tablet while they wait to enter the auditorium.
Guests will be able to view the ceremony from their cars if they have a device with internet access and/or a data plan.
Guests must wear masks at all times while in the building. Guests in the same household will be seated next to each other. Social distancing will be maintained between guests not in the same household.
Guests will need to walk some distance from the seating area to the auditorium, please wear comfortable shoes.
Please notify Penn Highlands Community College if accommodations need to be made for guests in a wheelchair or with mobility issues. To do so, please contact Sue Brugh at 814-262-6463 or email@example.com.
