Workforce Education Assistant (Richland)

Location: Richland Campus

Full or Part Time: Part Time

Hours: 20 – 25 hours per week

Salary/Wage: $12.50 – $13 per hour

Job Scope

The Workforce Education Assistant provides support services to the Workforce Education Department and is responsible for providing administrative support for a wide range of programs offered within the department. Provides overall clerical support, data entry, program reports, and serves as a back-up support to other workforce education projects as needed. This position provides support primarily to the Director of Workforce Education, Workforce Development Community Liaison, and the Vice President of Student Services.

This is a multi-faceted position, working with business and industry representatives, workforce partners, community residents, instructors, and staff to provide quality workforce education training programs. This position requires great attention to detail, the provision of outstanding customer service, and absolute confidentiality when dealing with confidential information. The Workforce Education Assistant may be required to work in the evenings as needed to support classes and testing center operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Assist with specific programs: Prepare materials, i.e., information folders, course packets, handout materials, directional signs, certificates, evaluation forms and other support materials as needed.
  2. Collect, compile, and prepare statistical data and sensitive information for reports, contracts, publications, etc., requiring some information and knowledge of college operations and activities.
  3. Data entry in Jenzabar and the CRM (Element 451). Performs word processing and data entry assignments to include maintenance of various distribution lists and course and instructor information maintained in the database.
  4. Support special events hosted by the department.
  5. Assist in the development, compilation, and processing of mailings and emails distributed by the Workforce Education Department.
  6. Demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  7. Cross-train with other College departments to ensure the continuity of services and courses (i.e., Pearson Vue Testing Center, Students Services).
  8. Attendance at all mandatory meetings.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year accredited college or technical school preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Two-years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of desktop applications such as Microsoft Office is required.
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize College specific programs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Criminal Background Clearance

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, write, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee may occasionally have to stoop or kneel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
