How and Where You Will Study
Students have two options:
- Asynchronous Accelerated Online Program: Enjoy the flexibility of our 100% asynchronous online programs, featuring accelerated 6- or 7-week sessions. With no set class times, you can work independently within structured deadlines, allowing you to focus on fewer courses at once. Our year-round programs—offered in fall, spring, and summer—are completed in Brightspace.
- In-Person at the Richland Campus or Blair Center: Students attend classes in person at designated Penn Highlands locations during scheduled daytime hours. Hands-on learning, face-to-face instruction, and on-campus resources support student success.
Program Objectives
- Be prepared to protect a computer or network environment from physical, internal, and cyber attacks.
- Be able to perform comprehensive security audits and penetration tests.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network issues related to security and more.
- Create and implement a comprehensive security policy.
- Be prepared to take the following third-party vendor certification exams: ISC2 CC, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Security+, CCST, CompTIA Linux+ and the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker Essentials Exam.
