Attendance is required for all new students. Our orientation program helps you smoothly transition into the College community, academically and socially. You’ll learn how to maximize your college experience and acquire key skills for success. You’ll also get to meet classmates, administrators, and staff, understand your career path, and learn about the technology and processes necessary for your first day of classes.
We are excited to welcome you as a new student and look forward to assisting you to become acclimated to the resources and services available. Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 8:30am – 2:00pm for students from all our locations at the Richland Campus.
Each student may bring up to two guests. Check-in is from 8:30am – 9:30am. The Bookstore will be open before and after Orientation; a Resource and Activity Fair will be held from 8:30am – 9:30am and 2:00pm – 3:00pm for you to complete your New Student Checklist prior to departing for the day. You will be obligated to stay the entire day.

The Chef Auction, with its 10+ year history of making a difference, originally began as an initiative of the 1889 Foundation. In 2023, the event entered a new chapter as the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Foundation took over stewardship, ensuring its impactful legacy continues. Thanks to your generosity, this year’s Chef Auction will support the Supporting Scholars Fund (Presidential, Emerging Leader, and Destination Graduation scholarships), along with other culinary scholarships. Together, we can empower future generations to thrive in our region.
We extend our gratitude to the local restaurants and chefs who are dedicated to empowering community members as they strive for brighter futures… for themselves, their families, and the entire region. The current list of participating chefs and restaurants includes:
