  • Ribbon Cutting & Open House

    Discover the latest addition to Penn Highlands Community College at our ribbon cutting in Bellefonte, PA. Nestled on the second floor of the historic Match Factory, Penn Highlands Centre County spans 5,200 square feet, boasting cutting-edge classrooms, a computer lab, a conference room, offices, and a dedicated area for students. The event will include guest speakers, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, light refreshments, and guided tours of the facility.

    After the ribbon cutting, Penn Highlands Centre County will host a public open house from noon to 2 PM. Take some time and explore the College’s newest facility, thoughtfully designed to equip students with a wealth of resources positioned for their success.

  • Board of Trustees Meeting

    The Board of Trustees is the policy-making body of the College and is ultimately responsible for setting the larger agenda for the institution. The Board is comprised of representatives from private, for-profit companies, education, and non-profits. The Cambria County Commissioners appoint 12 members to our Board of Trustees. Three additional members are board-appointed from locations in which the College has an academic center, and the Student Senate President serves as a voting member.

    The Board of Trustees meeting takes place at the Richland Campus in the Holtzman Board Room and/or via Zoom.

  • New Student Orientation

    Attendance is required for all new students. Our orientation program helps you smoothly transition into the College community, academically and socially. You’ll learn how to maximize your college experience and acquire key skills for success. You’ll also get to meet classmates, administrators, and staff, understand your career path, and learn about the technology and processes necessary for your first day of classes.

    We are excited to welcome you as a new student and look forward to assisting you to become acclimated to the resources and services available. Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 9:30am – 3:30pm for students from all our locations at the Richland Campus. Transportation will be provided from each of our Center locations for those who indicate a need.  If transportation is needed, you will be contacted with further details.

    Each student may bring up to two guests. Check-in is from 8:30am – 9:15am. The Bookstore will be open before and after Orientation; a Resource and Activity Fair will be held from 8:30am – 9:30am and 2:30pm – 3:30pm for you to complete your New Student Checklist prior to departing for the day. You will be obligated to stay the entire day.

    Our Cause

    Originally a part of the 1889 Foundation, the Chef Auction has a rich 10+ year history of helping those in need throughout our area. In 2023, the 1889 Foundation officially handed over the Chef Auction to the Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Foundation, entrusting them with the legacy’s continuation. With your generous support, this year’s Chef Auction will go to helping future generations find success in our region through the Supporting Scholars Fund (Presidential, Emerging Leader, and Destination Graduation scholarships) and other culinary scholarships.
