Pennsylvania Highlands Community College held its fourth annual Sprint to Success 5K Race on Saturday, March 29, 2008. The race, formerly known as the Fall Frolic held in Westmont Borough, was relocated to the College’s new Richland Campus. Race Official David Mapes of Finish Line Services reported that forty-three runners and walkers participated in the event. The race proceeds will benefit Pennsylvania Highlands student scholarships. Local race sponsors included 3D Graphix, East Hills Recreation Commission, Goucher Street Giant Eagle, and Valenty Bottled Water.
Race Coordinators Brenda Coughenour, Director of Financial Aid, and Laurie Grosik, Instructional Technologist, would like to thank the following volunteers from the College that contributed to the success of the race: Yes You Can Club! members Brenda Edwards and Rose Penrose and daughter Kala, employees Robert Sekerak, Maria Tiffany, and Robert Galasso. Next year’s race will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2009. We look forward to seeing you there!
