Face-to-Face Tutoring
Face-to-Face tutoring will be provided for students in English
and mathematics classes.
Students requiring tutoring in other classes will provided a
tutor, if and when, they become available.
Students who take advantage of tutoring services are responsible
for communicating with their tutor if they are unable to attend a
session. Failure to attend sessions will be cause for tutoring
services to be canceled.
Tutor sessions should be limited to no more than three hours per
week. |
Online Tutoring
Students can take advantage of 24/7 tutoring services through
Smarthinking. All PHCC students are
enrolled in Smarthinking.
Smarthinking allows students to
take advantage of a tutor on an as-needed basis, schedule a tutoring
session, and submit writing samples to be edited.
Smarthinking is available for
advanced classes such as Physics, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology,
and Calculus. |
Tutors
Students who wish to be tutors are required to complete employee
paperwork. When completing employee paperwork students will need to
bring the following items with them:
-Current driver's license
-Social Security card
-Canceled check (for direct deposit)
To begin the process, please complete a tutor form in the
Library. You will be notified by Human Resources when you will need
to come in to complete the process. |
