Welcome to the Pennsylvania Highlands Information Literacy/Library Instruction Program (P.H.I.L.L.I.P.)!  Relax and look forward to learning about the Library and research. 

In P.H.I.L.L.I.P. for First Year Experience, there are four units that will guide you through the basic understanding and use of various types of Library resources and materials.

The units cover the following topics:

  • -Unit 1: How to get registered with the Library, Online resources, and Interlibrary loan (approximately 45 minutes to read and study).
  • -Unit II: Research strategies, Boolean searching, and the Library's online catalog (approximately 75 minutes to read, study, and practice).
  • -Unit III: College online databases and EBSCOhost (approximately 75 minutes to read, study, and practice).
  • -Unit IV: Wilson Web Omnifile Select, the Internet, Search engines, and Evaluating web pages (approximately 75 minutes to read, study, and practice).
