Students throughout Cambria County are encouraged to collect oral histories of family, friends, or neighbors who worked in the mines, remember events related to the mines, or anything that demonstrates how mining helped to shape the people and towns of Cambria County.

Submitting Oral Histories for the book "Voices from the Dark"

To submit oral histories use the following guidelines:

1.) After collecting the oral history please transcribe the interview into a document using Microsoft Word or other compatible word processing program.

2.) Submit the electronic transcript on a floppy disk, a CD-ROM, or as an attachment to an email to the following addresses:

3.) Please include a copy of the Interview Log with the oral histories and submit by June 1, 2006. Books will be distributed to schools and public libraries in the fall.
