In 2008, five churches in the Cambria City
neighborhood of Johnstown were identified for consolidation. As
a result of this news the committee, Save Our Steeples, was
created. The Committee worked with the Diocese of
Altoona-Johnstown to determine the future of the historic
buildings.
To capture the history of the churches, both
architecturally and biographically, volunteers from the
Pennsylvania Highlands Community College served on the Save Our
Steeples Committee and worked to capture the information
contained on these pages.
