Student Information

ACE courses are challenging and equivalent in content and rigor to courses offered at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College. Courses are intensive and often require more time and work than high school courses. However, the reward of graduating from high school with college credits is certainly worth the extra effort. 

All capable and committed students are encouraged to consider enrolling in the ACE courses offered at their high school.Please speak with your high school guidance counselor for more information about the ACE courses offered at your high school.

Academic Integrity Policy

 

The maintenance of an atmosphere of academic integrity is the responsibility of all students, faculty, and staff. Complete academic integrity in fulfillment of requirements is expected of all students and faculty. Students must in no way misrepresent their work, fraudulently or unfairly advance their academic status, or in any way abet other students who fail to maintain academic integrity.

Grading System

 

Students are expected to attend all class sessions. The completion of all requirements specified in the course syllabus is the responsibility of the student. Students are entitled to frequent feedback on their academic progress. The instructor is encouraged to employ, but is not limited to, the following criteria: attendance, class participation, weekly quizzes, periodic hourly exams, graded homework assignments, lab reports, oral reports, journals, and notebooks.

Incomplete Grades

Students wishing to pursue an incomplete grade should discuss the request with the course instructor. The decision to grant the student’s request is at the discretion of the instructor.

Registration

 

Part of being a college student means being responsible for applying and registering for your courses on time. The ACE online application is available during open registration.  Meet with your guidance counselor or contact person at your high school for more information or contact Pennsylvania Highlands Admissions at 814-262-6446 or ace@pennhighlands.edu

Transferring Credits

 

It is important that you research transference of credits before enrolling in an ACE course. The following web site provides information about the transference of college credits:

How to Obtain Your Official Transcript

 

The College will provide official transcripts of an ACE student’s academic record upon receipt of a signed Transcript Request Form and verification from the Bursar’s office that all financial obligations have been met.
