  • What if I am interested in a faculty position?

The Human Resources Office processes and reviews applications for full-time, benefits eligible faculty positions only.

If you are applying for a part-time faculty position, please follow the application instructions on the website for the open position. If there is an interest in your application, the appropriate hiring department will contact you directly.

  • Where do I apply online?

Please visit Employment Opportunities to find the position that most interests you. Then, click the job title to learn more and apply.

  • Can I apply for more than one position?

Yes. You are required to submit a separate application for each position you wish to apply for. Please specify the exact job title as it is listed on our website in your employment application. Please note that the same position may be needed at multiple locations so please also specify which location you are interested in when applicable.

  • I need a sponsorship for work visa employment authorization. Am I still eligible for employment?

Unfortunately, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is unable to sponsor applicants for a work visa for any position.

  • How much time does it take to fill out the application?

Allow yourself time to complete our employment application as it could take up to 30 minutes. A complete application with full work experience and education is required, therefore, please do not enter “See resumé” within the application fields.

  • What materials are required as part of the application process?

For guaranteed consideration, all positions require an employment application, cover letter, and resumé or curriculum vita. If you are applying for a full-time faculty or adjunct faculty position, unofficial transcripts are also required. Applications submitted without all required materials are incomplete and therefore, there is no guarantee that your application will be reviewed or considered.

  • How do I know you received my online application?

Once you have submitted your application, an automatic message appears thanking you for your submission. Also, you will receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please check your spam and junk folders.

The College accepts applications until the position is filled for all positions; however, applicants who submit all required materials by the application deadline receive guaranteed priority consideration. If you apply after the application deadline or without all required application materials, there is no guarantee that your application will be considered.

  • Is there someone I can call to follow up in regards to my application?

Due to the volume of applications received per position, we ask that you please do not follow up in regards to the status of your application. Please check our employment opportunities website periodically for updated status information regarding the position.

  • If I meet the minimum qualifications for a position, will I be called for an interview?

Not necessarily. Once the applications are reviewed to determine eligibility, those candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring manager or search committee for further review. The hiring manager or search committee will then evaluate the applications to determine who will be invited for an interview. Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

  • How long after the application deadline should I expect to hear something?

Please understand that the recruitment process takes time. Some positions take longer to fill than others. It can take up to 2-3 months to fill a position after the application deadline. If the position requires a search committee, it can take even longer. Due to the volume of applications received, we are unable to reach out to all candidates that applied for a position. Human Resources or the appropriate hiring department will contact only those candidates selected for an interview. If you do not hear anything within 45 days after the application deadline, you can assume that you will not be called for an interview.
