Continuing Education Faculty

The Continuing Education department of Pennsylvania Highlands Community College seeks part-time instructors to develop and teach various courses for Community Education and Workforce Education programs on an ongoing basis.

Community Education

The Community Education program offers a variety of non-credit personal interest courses and aims to provide opportunities for participants to learn new skills, discover new hobbies, and meet new people.

Community Education instructors are wanted in the following areas:  Arts/Crafts, Computers, Dance, Foods & Spirits; General Interest, Home & Garden, Kids’ College, Languages/Culture, Mind & Body, Money & Law, Music, Pets, Writing, and others.


  • Significant amount of enthusiasm and experience/knowledge in subject
  • Ability to help develop course content/curriculum
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Evening and/or Saturday availability required
  • Prior teaching experience is helpful, but not required

Workforce Education

The Workforce Education program offers training for regional employees and job/career seekers in both open enrollment and employer-customized training formats.

We are accepting applications in the following areas on an ongoing basis: Manufacturing (Blueprint Reading, Welding, Soldering, Industrial Maintenance, etc.); Quality Assurance; Six Sigma; Lean Manufacturing; CAD; Project Management; Customer Services; Sales and Marketing; Computer/IT, and others.


  • Experience/Education requirements vary depending on topic
  • Ability to develop course curriculum
  • Prior teaching experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Day time availability strongly preferred
