Adjunct Faculty

To support continued growth and a reputation for providing quality, affordable educational programs and services to residents of Cambria County and the Southern Alleghenies, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is seeking qualified adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach in Associate degree program areas. 

Applications from energetic, student centered faculty are being accepted in a wide range of disciplines including Business, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Education, Liberal Arts/Humanities, the Natural and Social Sciences, Career and Technology areas, and others.     

The College especially invites applications from candidates with expertise in current and emerging issues within the discipline, experience in the development and delivery of on-line or blended courses, and candidates who are available to teach daytime, weekend, or off-site classes.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree in the discipline or a closely related area is required for most positions.  Additional requirements include a successful demonstration lesson or evidence of successful teaching and the ability to relate well to students and others in the College environment.  Preference will be given to candidates with applied, discipline-based experience and the ability to advance student understanding and use of current and emerging technologies in a competitive global environment.

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College serves nearly 8,000 students per year at its two main locations through its credit, workforce education, and community education programs.  The College’s main Campus is located in Richland Township at 101 Community College Way.  The Ebensburg Education Center (EEC) is located at Hills Plaza Drive on Route 22.
